1841 Pattinson Crescent
Located on a rare reverse pie lot within an underdeveloped Mississauga neighbourhood, this custom residence demonstrates how thoughtful home design can transform a challenging site into a highly livable and expressive family home. The project is defined by bold massing, a refined material palette, and a strong emphasis on indoor–outdoor connectivity.

The home is composed as a series of offset rectilinear volumes, carefully arranged to maximize usable space while maintaining a calm and respectful street presence. From the front, the residence presents a restrained and grounded character—solid brick forms punctuated by tall, precisely placed openings—allowing it to integrate seamlessly with the existing residential context. Textured brickwork adds depth and visual interest while subtly elevating the exterior expression.
As the lot widens toward the rear, the design opens up to reveal a private outdoor retreat. The layout pivots inward to create a strong relationship between the main living spaces and the backyard, where a covered outdoor area and pool become central to daily life. Large expanses of glazing blur the line between inside and out, allowing the home to expand naturally during warmer months and bringing abundant light deep into the interior.
Inside, the layout is organized to prioritize light, views, and efficiency. Primary living spaces are oriented toward the rear of the property, taking full advantage of the lot geometry, while private rooms are layered to balance openness with privacy. Every design decision is informed by the goal of creating spaces that feel generous, connected, and intuitive to live in.
This project highlights how considered home design can unlock the full potential of unconventional lots. By embracing the unique geometry of the site and responding sensitively to its surroundings, the Pattinson Crescent Residence contributes a contemporary yet contextually grounded home to its evolving neighbourhood.
