Rural Retreat
Set in the quiet of the countryside, this 3,200 sq.ft. Scandinavian modern–inspired retreat was designed as a weekend escape for a Toronto family and their circle of extended family and close friends. For clients who spend their weekdays in the heart of the city, the goal was simple: to create a space that slows life down, reconnects them with nature, and provides effortless comfort for gatherings both large and small.
Residential design
The home offers four bedrooms and four bathrooms, organized around open social spaces that blur the line between indoors and out. Expansive glazing frames the forest and floods the interiors with light, while a restrained material palette emphasizes warmth and simplicity.
Outdoors, a pool anchors the property as a destination for summer days, complemented by quiet forested areas for rest and reflection. Whether entertaining friends or retreating as a family, the home is crafted to balance energy with calm—delivering a sense of ease that only the countryside can provide.
Rural Retreat is a reminder of what weekends are meant to be: time to connect, to recharge, and to live surrounded by the beauty of nature.
Leaside Semi is proof that small-scale urban living can be elevated into something timeless and highly livable—a home for this family to thrive in for another decade and beyond.
