From the street, the home stands out immediately: a striking composition of sharp forms, deep charcoal cladding, warm wood accents, and a vivid yellow feature that slices through the façade. It’s a home that doesn’t just sit on the street—it energizes it.
Inside, the atmosphere shifts to effortless calm. Light filters through the generous glazing, filling the main living spaces with an airy clarity. Clean lines, warm materials, and understated detailing create a refined backdrop for everyday living. The open layout supports both family life and modern entertaining, with smooth transitions between kitchen, dining, and lounge areas.
A defining aspect of the project was the seamless integration of a short-term rental suite in the lower level. Rather than feeling like an afterthought, the suite is fully considered—private, bright, and finished with the same level of care as the main home. It provides flexibility for the homeowners while adding functional value to the property.
Throughout the home, signature smpl moments appear: minimalist millwork, sculptural lighting gestures, carefully framed views, and crisp alignments that make each space feel intentional. Even utilitarian areas, like the bath and stair hall, are elevated with bold materials and unexpectedly playful touches—including a dramatic yellow feature wall that echoes the exterior.
This project is the perfect blend of individuality, modern expression, and thoughtful urban living—an infill home that maximizes its narrow footprint while making a lasting impression on one of Toronto’s most character-rich streets.
